The Launch of Polimec on Polkadot: Transforming Web3 Fundraising

Polimec, a newly launched decentralized funding protocol on the Polkadot network, is set to revolutionize the way Web3 projects raise capital and issue tokens. Offering a transparent and regulatory-compliant environment, Polimec aims to connect investors and startups globally, fostering innovation in decentralized initiatives.

Polimec enables emerging Web3 projects, particularly those focused on the Polkadot ecosystem, to reach their funding goals while maximizing their potential for developing transformative blockchain solutions. The platform ensures decentralization for Web3 projects while also adhering to regulatory standards. Users are required to obtain a Deloitte KYC Credential to access funding information, project evaluations, and participate in funding rounds.

The governance of Polimec is managed by PLMC token holders, an on-chain council, and a technical committee. Any PLMC holder can submit a proposal, which undergoes a token-holder vote upon receiving sufficient support. The platform allows projects to conduct single or multiple funding rounds, providing flexibility for both project teams and investors. Additionally, Polimec oversees the issuance, distribution, and conversion of tokens to the mainnet, enhancing value creation for Web3 projects.

The protocol includes an Evaluation Round, lasting 28 days, during which evaluators perform due diligence on projects by reviewing whitepapers, team members, tokenomics, and more. Evaluators must bond their PLMC tokens to demonstrate support for a project. Once 10% of the target funding amount is bonded, the project proceeds to the Funding Round. Bonded PLMC tokens are locked until the completion or cancellation of the funding round. Evaluators are incentivized with rewards for successful evaluations, while unsuccessful evaluations may result in slashed tokens, promoting thorough and honest assessments.

Apillon is the first project featured on Polimec, offering an infrastructure solution for Web3 developers. Other projects lined up for fundraising on the platform include Mandala Chain, Gotem, and ImpactScope. Polimec aims to create a vibrant ecosystem for Web3 innovations, allowing diverse stakeholders to participate in funding rounds and reducing information asymmetry between participants and issuers.

Polimec’s launch on Polkadot signifies a new era in Web3 fundraising, providing a platform for innovative projects to access capital in a decentralized and compliant manner. As the protocol continues to evolve, it is expected to further drive the growth of transformative blockchain solutions and foster collaboration within the Web3 community.
